What is the Hormonal Gap?

The Hormonal Gap™ is the space between how you feel and how your hormones are supporting you right now.
When brain, breast, body, baby-holder, or bikini systems aren’t getting the right hormonal signals, you feel the gap: foggy, flat, tired, or uncomfortable despite “doing everything right.”

What is perimenopause, and how long does it last?

Perimenopause is the transition before menopause when estrogen and progesterone fluctuate. It can start in the late 30s or 40s and last 4–8 years. Symptoms come and go; support focuses on smoothing the swings.

How do I know if it’s hormones or “just stress”?

Hormonal shifts and stress feel similar (fatigue, mood, sleep). Patterns tied to your cycle, new heavy/irregular periods, hot flushes, or vaginal dryness point to hormones. A consult + targeted labs help separate the two.

What symptoms are common in perimenopause?

Sleep changes, brain fog, anxiety/low mood, irregular/heavier periods, hot flushes/night sweats, weight changes, low libido, and vaginal dryness are typical. Not everyone has all of them.

Are “bioidentical hormones” the same as “compounded” hormones?

Not always. Body-identical can be regulated pharmacy products. Compounded products are custom-mixed and may lack the same regulatory testing. Many women do well on regulated options.

What is hormonal imbalance?

Hormonal imbalance occurs when there is too much or too little hormone in the bloodstream. Hormones are vital for regulating various bodily functions, so an imbalance can affect overall health.

It is best to see a doctor before 16 weeks of pregnancy – from there you will have 2 – 6 weekly visits until you give birth.  The frequency of the visits depends on how far pregnant you are, if you have any medical conditions and the outcome of your previous pregnancies.

What are the symptoms of hormonal imbalance?

Symptoms can include irregular periods, weight gain or loss, fatigue, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, and changes in libido. Other signs may include hair loss, acne, and digestive issues.

Finally, the pregnancy is confirmed using an ultrasound scan. With the scan, we can determine how far pregnant you are, the number of babies you have, a heartbeat (from 6 weeks), and if the pregnancy is in the right place inside the womb. At the end of your visit, the obstetrician will determine any risk factors or concerns in the pregnancy and put measures in place to detect them early or prevent them from happening entirely.

What treatments are available for hormonal imbalance?

Treatment options vary depending on the cause and severity of the imbalance. They may include lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, medications, and hormone therapy. A healthcare professional can provide a personalised treatment plan.

What causes hormonal imbalance?

Hormonal imbalance can be caused by various factors, including stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, thyroid issues, diabetes, and conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Environmental toxins and certain medications can also contribute.

How is hormonal imbalance tested?

Testing for hormonal imbalance typically involves blood tests to measure hormone levels. Your doctor may also recommend saliva or urine tests, depending on the specific hormones being evaluated.
